Mission Statement: The mission of the Mid-Columbia Council of Governments (MCCOG) is to serve as a forum for intergovernmental cooperation and cost effectiveness by providing joint strategic planning for the provision of services; centralization of expertise which may not be affordable by individual member organizations; and the acquisition of revenue with which to fund programs and services as designated by its Board of Directors and the member governments which they represent.

MCCOG achieves its mission by providing qualified staff, materials and equipment support in the areas of workforce development; senior and disability services; transportation; grant writing; program administration; and selected other educational, social, technical and environmnental/natural resource services. These services are specifically designed and administered to meet or exceed the legitimate, identified needs while promoting the strengths of the residents of Hood River, Wasco, Gilliam, Sherman and Wheeler cities and counties. MCCOG is committed to ensuring that it provides services in areas not sufficiently fulfilled by private sector or other governmental agencies.

MCCOG is recognized as being client driven; outcome oriented; a valuable partner and investor of community resources; highly organized; collaborative; and as adapting rapidly to meet identified changes in demand.
