Transportation Network
Mid-Columbia Council of Government’s Transportation
Network operates a number of transportation programs in the mid-Columbia
Region. The Transportation Network is a program/division of the
Mid-Columbia Council of Governments - which is a public agency created
to provide services on behalf of the five counties within the region.
The member counties are Hood River, Wasco, Gilliam, Sherman and
Wheeler counties.
The Transportation Network (formerly LINK) was
created in May of 1998 to provide local Dial-a-Ride transportation
in The Dalles and to coordinate other transportation programs in
Wasco County. The Transportation Network also became the Greyhound
Agent at the Transportation Center in downtown The Dalles. In 2002,
The Transportation Network became the Medicaid Transportation Broker
for the State of Oregon for Hood River, Wasco, Gilliam, Sherman
and Wheeler Counties. Several years later, Morrow and Umatilla counties
were added to the Brokerage.
