Assisting Jobseekers and Employers in the Columbia Gorge The United States Congress passed the Workforce Investment Act (http:www.doleta.gov/usworkforce/WIA) in 1998 “to consolidate, coordinate, and improve employment, training, literacy, and vocational rehabilitation programs in the United States”.Mid-Columbia Council of Governments (MCCOG) is the sole administrator of Workforce Investment Act (WIA-1B) Oregon services in the Columbia Gorge. MCCOG provides a variety of programs for both youth and adults to help them achieve their educational and employment goals.
